At the annual Aquaculture Europe congress, this year in Vienna, Camillo Rosso made a presentation of the latest progress. With his lecture, we informed the world that Glasaal Volendam can raise European eel from fertilized egg to the leptocephalus (willow leaf larva) stage. That's the larval stage that in nature swims back from the Sargasso Sea to European shores, where they turn into glass eels before moving into the saltwater. That means we are just one step away from glass eels with our culture. The announcement also on LinkedIn, evoked many reactions.
